Ingredients
- 5 slices maple bacon
- 4 servings of chicken (4 chicken breasts, 8 chicken thighs)
- 1 acorn squash
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp sage + 1 tsp sage
- S&P
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook bacon in pan until almost cooked, it will get crispy when cooked with everything. Chop bacon into chunky pieces. Reserve 1 tbsp bacon grease.
- Brown butter on medium-high in pan, swirling the pan while it browns. This takes only a couple of minutes. Let sit 1 minute to cool.
- Mix spices with butter in large bowl. Toss chicken in the mixture. Put chicken on a large baking pan.
- Cut acorn squash into half moons. Add squash to same bowl used for chicken, adding bacon grease, more sage, and S&P. Toss. Add to baking pan.
- Add bacon to baking pan.
- Bake until chicken is cooked, 30-35 minutes. Stir/mix halfway through.
