Ingredients
- 450g stewing beef
- oil
- 1 tbsp butter (or oil)
- 1 yellow onion
- 2 ribs celery
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 carrots
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 bouillon cubes/packages
- 2 tsp Worcestershire
- 6 cups broth
- 2/3 cup pearl barley
- S&P
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Cook cubed beef in oil with S&P until browned.
- Remove beef.
- Cook chopped onions and celery in 1 tbsp butter/oil until soft.
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add all ingredients and beef to the pot. Bring to boil.
- Simmer 60-90 minutes until beef is tender. (Add barley later if planning to simmer longer or use crock pot).
- Slurp!
